Chelsea Football Club have announced that goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has signed a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international, who spent three years away on loan at Atletico Madrid, returned to England for the first time this season, and got the vote of confidence from Jose Mourinho when chosen as the club’s new number-one, replacing veteran, Petr Cech.

Courtois has now committed his future until 2019 and has had this to say to the club’s official website:

‘I’m very happy with this new deal, it’s really nice to have signed this new contract for five years.

‘My future was already sorted but it’s nice to know I’m going to be here for another five years and now I can just concentrate on playing games.’
