And Blues legend Nevin thinks the extra noise made by the fans could give them the edge over Tottenham on Saturday (5.30pm).
“It is often said that the atmosphere in Premier League games in general isn’t always what it should be,” Nevin said.
“That does not however seem to be the case at Chelsea right now and there are a few reasons for that.
“It helps if you are winning of course, but even in some of the bad days last season Chelsea home fans did their best to raise the team’s spirits.
“This season has witnessed a massive increase in noise levels and you have to say that the passion of Antonio Conte must have a lot to do with it.
“The continuous singing of his name over the past few games underlines it is a two-way street of course, but the atmosphere is if anything building week on week.
“This weekend at home I expect to experience one of the best atmospheres at any game of the season.
“This is important of course because it lifts every single player just that little bit more and that might be enough to produce the result.
“I certainly thought it played a big part in Eden Hazard getting that late equaliser last season.
