Toni Kroos ‘ready to join United’

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has told his team mates for club and country that he is ready for a move to Manchester United. It comes as it emerged that Real Madrid are weighing up a move for the 24 year old, but it now looks as if he favours a move to England, and The Red Devil’s are looking set to break the bank to get thieir man.

Midfielder Kroos, who will face United in the Champions League quarter final 2nd leg tomorrow in Munich, seems to have been attracted by a large contract at Old Trafford and the chance to be the main man in midfield. It was revealed last week that United are prepared to pay a staggering ÂŁ40million, even though Kroos only has one year left on his contract at Bayern.

Bayern are adamant they will not sell, but that sort of figure may well test their resistance. Kroos’ negotiations of a new contract with the German champions have stalled, meaning he could get up to ÂŁ200,000 a week at Old Trafford if he completes the move. He has told his team mates that he would rather be first choice at United than play second-fiddle to Bastian Schweinsteiger at The Allianz.

Moyes sees Kroos as a major part of his rebuilding plan at United, and despite a disappointing season this year and the strong liklihood that there will be no Champions League football at Old Trafford next season, the figures on offer are clearly ones that have turned the player’s head.

The outgoing Premier League champions will want to tie down Kroos as soon as they can, as they will be aware that they can use him to attract other big names in the summer.
