Jack Grealish is Manchester City’s most expensive signing of all time
The summer’s new record transfer is complete. Jack Grealish is leaving Aston Villa to sign a deal with Manchester City that will expire in 2027. The 25-year-old smashes many records when the Citizens pay £100 million, or around €117.5 million, for him, according to The Athletic.
Grealish has surpassed Harry Maguire (who moved from Leicester to Manchester United in 2019 for €87 million) and Jadon Sancho (who moved from BVB to Manchester United in 2021 for €85 million) to become the most expensive English player in history.
The England international also takes Paul Pogba’s spot as the Premier League’s most expensive acquisition. Pogba moved from Juventus to Manchester United for €105 million in 2016. Grealish is just the eleventh football player to earn his previous club a price of more than €100 million, and he ranks seventh among the most costly transfers in history.
