Spurs have been communicating with non-league side Fleet Spurs who have recently redesigned their badge which the Premier League side claim is too similar to theirs. The Premier League sides lawyers wrote to the club to simply tell them to drop their new badge. The unprofessional side claimed it was “Heavy Handed” and it was very expensive to change their crest. Tottenham claimed they was defending the club’s identity. Fleet Spurs were set up in 1948 after worlc war two and claim their is no relation between then and the top tier team.

The club have always had a cockerel in their logo and felt really intimidated when asked to change it. The club admitted that the fan with the club idea might have used the Spurs logo as an inspiration however they felt it was poorly handled. The White Hart Lane side decided to let the club continue to use the crest until they can change it.

Fleet Spurs Chairman (Bryan Sheppard) said: “We haven’t got a penny to our name, we couldn’t afford to fight it. It’s been quite stressful, we just felt really intimidated by the heavy-handed approach. But I can see where they are coming from.”

The club will be changing the website and have until christmas to remove the crest of the shirts and the stadium which will cost money. The chairman said that there would be a fan competition of creating crests and they will analyze each one carefully to make sure this doesn’t happen again. The Premier League side have tried their best to keep costs down for the club as they are aware that the non-league side doesn’t have a big bank account.
