Tottenham enter race to sign Giovinco

Tottenham have joined the race to sign Sebastian Giovinco from Juventus. The Italy international is currently struggling to get playing time in Turin.

He is now hoping to leave Juve in search of first-team action and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Serie A side are hoping to cash-in on the forward this month rather than let him leave for nothing next summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been tracking the striker’s situation and today fellow Premier League side Tottenham have entered the race to sign him. With the player’s agent, Andrea D’Amico, previously revealing his client’s intentions to leave Juventus, the question is now this: where is he heading? D’Amico said:

“When he has played as a starter he always did really well, likewise in the national team, but then he went back to the bench at Juventus. What more can you ask of a player that brings together experience, technique, class and creativity?

“The final word comes down to Allegri, but it’s only normal that when a player has these qualities and sees himself rewarded in such small measure, he will feel angry within himself about his position.

“In any case his contract expires in 2015 and from the beginning of January he’ll be free to evaluate other options for his future.”

So, with Giovinco looking for a way out, all four Premier League clubs will go head-to-head this month in a battle to land the signature of the 27-year old attacker.
