Tottenham have emerged as favourites to sign ex-Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand for free.
Ferdinand is availible to talks to various clubs, after being released by United after the club decided against giving the player a new contract at Old Trafford.
Sources close to the player suggest that Spurs have made enquiries about Ferdinand and are willing to offer the player a one-year contract at the club.
Ferdinand is also being watched by LA Galaxy, Galatasaray and premier league new-boys, QPR.
But it appears that White Hart Lane is the preferred destination for Rio, with the player already deciding to relocate his family to his native London.
