Tottenham sealed Emerson Royal at a very good price.
The 22-year old defender left Barcelona due to their financial problems in this summer window.
He has spent the last two seasons with Spanish club Real Betis who coowned the Brazil international and Barcelona brought all the rights this summer.
It would be great for the North London club to get rid of the mistakes and inconsistency in that position.
He is the fifth signing for Tottenham this summer window following deals for Bryan Gil, Cristian Romero, Pape Sarr and Pierluigi Gollini.
Former PL player Noel Whelan has hailed Tottenham for taking advantage of Barcelona’s financial struggles.
“Right now, you’re looking at a club who are financially struggling,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“They need to get players off the wage bill and get some money back in.
“It won’t make any dent in the finances really, it’s very scary to see just how in debt Barcelona are.
“I think sometimes you can strike when the iron is hot when clubs are looking to get rid of players, and that’s what Tottenham have done.
“You can get them at a really good price and you know the brilliant quality you will be getting from Barcelona.”
