The Dane’s contract expires in the summer.
He could leave beforehand though.
Christian Eriksen appears to be on the verge of leaving Tottenham for Italian side Inter Milan, according to reports. Danish news outlet Ekstra Bladet have claimed that the 27-year-old’s move to Inter Milan is now imminent with Spurs set to receive a €20 million transfer fee.
Eriksen is out of contract at the Champions League finalists at the end of the season and can now speak to clubs on the continent following the opening of the January transfer window. He revealed back in June that he wanted to leave the club to seek a new challenge whilst inviting contact from Real Madrid only for a move to the Spanish giants to fail to materialize.
January represents the last opportunity for Spurs to receive a transfer fee for the playmaker if he fails to sign a new deal. The report claims that the Serie A giants are ready to bring Eriksen to Italy this month with an agreement likely to be made in the coming weeks.
Inter Milan will face stiff competition if they wait until June to seek a deal, something which could persuade the Nerazzurri to sign him for a fee this month. The Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio met representatives from the Premier League club in November while CEO Marotta has spoken with the midfielder’s agent Martin Schoots.
