Unai Emery has said that it is not good news for any of the Premier League managers that Jose Mourinho has been sacked.

The Arsenal manager was speaking to the club website ahead of the north London derby in the League Cup.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that the sacking of Manchester United Jose Mourinho is not good news for the other Premier League manager including him. He said, “When one coach is taken off, it’s not good news for us.” He added, “The only thing I can say to you is that it’s a surprise for me and not good news, because when one coach finishes his work like that, it’s not good for coaches.”

The Portuguese gaffer was sacked earlier today by the Red Devils following their dismal run in the Premier League. The Red Devils endured their worst start in the Premier League so far under his tutelage. Emery, however, denied making any comment on his view on how Manchester United performed under Mourinho and said, “My focus is only on our way, our work. We have a lot of work to do to improve and also find a solution in every match with our players. My focus is on the big derby tomorrow, the north London derby, and that’s the focus of the players as well. Only that.”

The Gunners are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur in their next match in the League Cup tomorrow as they would be looking to replicate their result from the previous meeting with Spurs in the Premier League this season, which they won by 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium.
