The Dutch winger’s future with PSV Eindhoven has been under intense speculation over the past couple of months and several reports have linked the young ace with a move away from the Eredivisie.

Wijnaldum has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs and reports also claim that Arsenal and Man United are interested in capturing his signature.

Red Devils’ boss Louis van Gaal and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger are both reportedly interested in the 23 year-old and are big fans of his playing style.

PSV ruled out the sale of their young star several times over the summer but it seems as though they may need to cash out on the forward while they can.

In an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Wijnaldum admitted he is ready to leave the club.

He said: “Next summer would be a great time to take the next step.

“PSV also know that I am keen to play abroad, I am the age for it. Although I like it here, I do not want to become too old to go abroad, because I want to play there for a few years.”

Although he admitted he would like to play abroad in the future, Wijnaldum maintained that he will not be leaving PSV in January.

He added: “First I want to be champion with PSV, and I will fight for it.

“If a club have been good to you and have always been there for you, I feel obliged to do me something in return for that club. I therefore do not wish to leave PSV straight away.”
