United face Van Persie fears

Manchester United forward Robin Van Persie may be forced to take action over his persisting knee injury.

The Dutch hitman was forced under the knife last season after injuring his left knee ligaments in the 3-0 win over Olympiakos in February.

However, then-Netherlands manager Louis Van Gaal persuaded his fellow country-man to delay the operation to ensure that he was fit for the World Cup.

And now United know that an operation needs to occur soon before any more damage occurs, which could see Van Persie’s career end if prevented.

Van Gaal could be forced into the market before the end of the window, with Van Persie unlikely to ever be back to his 100% fitness levels.
