Now that Valencia have lost their star striker in Roberto Soldado they are considering approaching Chelsea FC for the loan of either Romelu Lukaku or Demba Ba.

Previously the Spanish side had considered Chelsea’s other striker Fernando Torres, but with his wage bill being one of the highest in the Premier League, the cash strapped Valencia can’t afford to make that move. With Chelsea having issued two bids for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, and currently weighing up a thrid, Chelsea may end up gaining a fourth striker causing someone to become surplus to requirments at the Bridge.

Demba Ba hasn’t nailed down a permanent place in the Chelsea first team since his arrival in January from Newcastle, and Romelu Lukaku, while having impressed at West Brom and during Chelsea’s pre-seaon tour, may join the list of Chelsea youngsters off on loan this season if Wayne Rooney does arrive.

Chelsea’s Spanish midfielder Oriel Romeu is currently on loan this season at Valencia, having struggled to find fitness and regular first team action..
