Under-fire United manager convinced he will keep his job this summer

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is remaining confident that he will stay at his post at Old Trafford this summer, despite the Jose Mourinho ‘done deal’ rumours circulating the media.

Earlier this week Dutch media were making it clear that the ex-Netherlands national manager isn’t worried about the possibility of getting sacked, despite growing reports in England that he could be.

One of those reports include that of the Manchester Evening News, who say that Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes is set for talks with United’s chief executive, Ed Woodward.

Yesterday European football expert Guillem Balague said that Mourinho to United was a done deal.

He tweeted: “On Mou. His people say all done with United. Most football people think all done too. MUFC say no decision made. Lvg thinks he’s staying.”

United have made no official comment on the Mourinho link and Van Gaal has insisted is several press conferences that he would be told if he was going to get the sack.
