Jose Mourinho is keeping tabs on Real Madrid starlet Raphael Varane’s situation at the Spanish giants.
Varane is set to hold showdown talks at the Bernabeu as the player is after a wage boost at club. It is said that Varane wants Madrid to triple his wages or face losing the young superstar this summer.
The Frenchman is currently earning ÂŁ25,000 a week in Spain, and believes his eye-catching performances has earned him the right to a wage increase.
Varane has three years left on his current Madrid contract, after he signed for Mourinho during the manager’s spell in Spain.
And it is believed that if talks break-down, Mourinho is ready to use his former bond with Varane in an attempt to lure the defender to Stamford Bridge next season.
Although a fee is yet to be considered with Varane’s position uncertain, the bidding for any potential deal would likely start at around ÂŁ25million.
