Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has won the Swedish Player of the Year award.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic had made a habit of getting the award for consecutive ten years, from 2007 to 2016. The decorated forward played in a number of countries and is regarded as the best Swedish player of all time.
Andreas Granqvist managed to have his hand on the coveted prize last year but Lindelof’s performance in the United backline has given him a much needed recognition. The Swedish international has been the preferred choice for Jose Mourinho this season and is improving with every day passing.
Lindelof exclaimed his happiness.” It means very much for me to stand here today and receive this prize.
