Virgil Van Dijk is focused on all things Celtic, and is not considering an Arsenal move, according to Ronny Delia.

Arsenal have been linked with the 23 year old Dutch defender for sometime now, and made a bid for the centre half in the summer. However, Celtic manager Ronny Delia has stated that he is goining nowhere.

“I have no concerns about his commitment. I can honestly say I’m really happy about his situation and have no concerns.

“I can see his body language and he is happy. Now he is focused on getting good results with Celtic and getting better.

The defender has also attracted interest from other Premier League clubs, with Southampton and Swansea both keen, with reports suggesting Van Dijk is one of several Celtic players who want to leave the Glasgow club.

Celtic failed to qualify for the Champions League group stages, with Van Dijk keen to play in Europe’s top competition, hence the Arsenal interest.

Delia continued: He has said to me that he is so grateful to be at this club. Without the chance to play for Celtic, he wouldn’t be where he is today.

“He saw an opportunity to leave, but then he didn’t go. He knows what he has here and he is looking forward to the rest of the season.

“He’s very happy now. He’s just become a dad and he’s been with his national team for the first time.

“He has to understand how important he is. He is such an unbelievably good player for us.”
