Theo Walcott is backing Raheem Sterling to earn his place in England’s World Cup squad this summer. The Arsenal forward is set to miss the World Cup in Brazil through injury and he thinks the Liverpool man has all the tools needed to succeed in the summer.

Sterling has been in excellent form for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season after getting a run in the first team. Walcott had this to say about the Liverpool man:

“The manager has some great young players to pick from. Raheem has had a great season and been very consistent. Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have helped his game too. He has assists, he tracks back and works really hard for the team. He has a great opportunity. Then there’s Ross Barkley, Andros Townsend and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain too.”

Sterling currently has two England caps to his name, in games against Denmark and Sweden. This season for Liverpool, the 19-year-old has scored seven goals in their search for a first Prem trophy.
