Watford Set To Offer Javi Gracia A New Contract

Watford are contemplating to offer manager Javi Gracia a brand new contract to fend off interests from other clubs. The Spanish gaffer’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of this season.

Gracia replaced Marco Silva in January who had brought in a pale of fresh air at the Vicarage Road following his arrival from Hull City. The Portuguese boss managed to revive the fortunes of the Hornets as he led them to a solid start.

A strong first half followed by an erratic second half led to his departure and the club authority decided to rope in Gracia to replace the outgoing manager. Watford have been a surprise package this season and Gracia has been in the thick of things for them. The Spaniard has managed to accumulate all his limited resources and has brought stability to the side.

Watford have been on a four match winning streak and are currently placed third in the Premier League table. Last time they managed to grab a win in the first four matches was way back in 1988 when they were competing in the Championship.

Watford complained to the Premier League alleging Everton were trying to lure Marco Silva to the Goodison Park. The former eventually joined the Toffees this season but to avoid this kind of situations again, Watford are ready to extend Gracia’s stay at the Vicarage Road.
