According to reports in Denmark Brondby face competition from Arsenal for the signing of Liverpool center back Daniel Agger. The former Brondby man is uncertain about his future after Dejan Lovren’s ÂŁ20 million move to Liverpool from Southampton.

Brondy Chairman Jan Bech Andersen stated earlier this month that the club wil do all in their power to bring Agger back to the Danish side. ‘We will work really, really hard to secure Daniel but as he has also said, when he was here with Liverpool, the timing has to be right.’

Rodgers has said he isn’t prepared to let Agger leave, however, the defender could move on the pastures new in order to secure more gametime. Agger has said he will not play second fiddle at the club, ‘It is no secret that I had problems last season and I am considering things. How things turned out last season is not sustainable for me. I am here now and it is up to me to show the coach that I should play.’

Wenger wants to pip Brondby to signing the defender to replace outbound Thomas Vermaelen, with Barcelona and Manchester United interested in the Belgian defender.

Would Agger be willing to join another English side after considering how much he loves and respects Liverpool football club? We’ll have to wait and see.
