Baggies want to take Liverpool outcast on temporary basis

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique on a season-long loan.

The Spaniard has been excluded from Brendan Rodgers‘ first-team ahead of the new season and forced to train alone due to being on the transfer list.

However, so far, no club has shown interest in the defender, leaving the Spaniard kicking his heels in the reserves.

Enrique, who has suffered with injuries throughout his Anfield career, has fallen down the pecking order and is now behind Alberto Moreno, and although Rodgers only has one recognised left-back at the club, he still isn’t considering the former-Newcastle United star.

West Brom Interest

With his career in Merseyside all-but over, WBA are interested in taking him on a temporary basis for the season ahead.

The Baggies loaned Andre Wisdom from The Reds last season and are keen on signing another one of their defenders on loan this time around.

The 29-year-old’s lucrative contract might become an issue, but West Brom officials are said to be working on a proposed deal behind the scenes at The Hawthorns.
