West Brom want Christian Benteke

The centre forward has flopped at Anfield

West Bromwich Albion are prepared to take a risk by signing Liverpool striker Christian Benteke in the summer.

The Belgium international moved to the Reds from Aston Villa for £32.5 million at the beginning of the season, but he has only scored eight goals in all competitions this campaign.

The 25-year old isn’t exactly Jurgen Klopp’s flavour of the month either, meaning the Baggies could snap up Benteke on a cut-price deal.

Wheeling and dealing

As it stands, West Brom can’t afford Benteke, but it seems they are willing to offload Saido Berahino in order to raise funds for the former Genk man.

However, if they are to lure Benteke to the Hawthorns they will have to fight off competition from West Ham United, who may appeal more to the forward due to the prospect of European football and the chance to play at the Olympic Stadium next term.
