West Ham United are considering a £8M bid for Besiktas striker Demba Ba.

The former Newcastle United and Chelsea forward has enjoyed a strong start to the season, with ten goals in fourteen games for the Turkish side.

The Hammers are targeting their former striker, who has 50 goals during his three spells in the Premier League.

He left Upton Park to join Newcastle in 2011, after only a few months with the club. In his time with West Ham he scored seven times in twelve appearances.

Ba has  made history for Besiktas this season, becoming the first player to score seven goals for the club in a UEFA competition.

The forward has also been linked with Tottenham, against who he scored among those seven.

Ba signed for Besiktas from Chelsea for £8M this summer after to failing to settle at Stamford Bridge.

The French-born Senegalese international appeared for his country in the 2012 African Cup of Nations, where they were knocked out in the Group stages.
