West Ham United are reportedly after Ghana centre forward Asamoah Gyan on a loan deal until the end of the Premier League campaign, to ease their striker crisis, as they are locked in a real relegation battle.

Allardyce may turn to the Ghana striker in January, as Andy Carroll looks set to be out for another month or so, with the Hammers playing without a recognised striker on a regular basis, and with Carroll out, goals have been a real struggle for the Boleyn Ground side.

Gyan has spent the last three seasons in the United Arab Emirates playing for Al Ain. During the 2011-12 season, the star from Ghana led the UAE Pro League with 22 goals in just 18 appearances.

The following season, he did it again, leading the league in goals (31 in 22 appearances) and helping Al Ain capture another championship. In 2013-14, he has found the net 14 more times in 11 league matches.

And it now appears Gyan would be open to a return to the Premier League ahead of this summer’s World Cup Final’s in Brazil, having had a hit and miss spell at Sunderland, from 2010-2012, flattering to decieve many Blackcats supporters, before moving to the warmer climbs of the United Arab Emirates.

The Hammers have reportedly offered Gyan ÂŁ10,000 a week for his loan deal, with the Ghanian acting as cover for the injured Carroll.

The 28 year old former Sunderland striker has 76 caps at international level, scoring 39 goals.
