Pole makes statement on official Facebook page
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has confirmed that he will be staying in North London for ‘many, many years’, despite speculation surrounding his future.
The Pole was dropped as number-one at the Emirates Stadium after horrific performance against Southampton earlier this year. His two errors lead to a 2-0 defeat at the St Marys Stadium, which was then followed up with off-the-field antics as well.
Szczesny’s Woes
Szczesny was caught smoking in the showers after the 2-0 defeat which infuriated Arsene Wenger, so much so, the Frenchman dropped his number-one for David Ospina.
The Colombian then remained as the Premier League goalkeeper for the rest of the campaign, with Szczesny only playing in FA Cup games, including the final on Saturday.
After being dropped, it was speculated that Szczesny’s career at Arsenal was all-but over, especially with reports linking Petr Cech with a Summer move from Chelsea.
However, speaking after yesterday’s parade, Szczesny released a statement on his official Facebook account confirming that he will be at the club for many, many years.
The goalkeeper was quick to praise the fans, the clubs and everyone around him for supporting him throughout the tough campaign.

Szczesny wrote: “What a day! Thank you for coming and celebrating with us!
“It’s been a long season for me but I promise to work my socks off to make it better next season and make all The Gunners around the world proud again!
“Also a massive Thank You to my team mates and the coaching staff at Arsenal FC for their incredible support during difficult times.
“And a big well done to the media who almost managed to convince people that I could actually leave my home and the people I love!
“Well,you’re gonna have to put up with me for many many years”
