Wolves are set to make Jonny Castro Otto’s loan stint permanent as an £18m deal with Atletico Madrid are set to be on their way.

The newly promoted side didn’t have an buy option in the contract but his splendid display in the first half of the season has compelled the club to for the ultimate option.

It was expected the Spanish international would go back to Wanda Metropolitano but now it seems he is set to play a key role at Molineux for the next few seasons.

Details of the contract are being fine tuned and the player could equal the club record transfer fee Wolves paid to Middlesbrough for Adama Traore. Jonny’s antics in the Premier League also earned him a Spanish caps and he played in the UEFA Nations League for his country.
