Xherdan Shaqiri has hit a rich vein of form this season and the Swiss international was quick shower praises on Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp.

“The manager is, for me, the most important thing. With the move – he wanted me to come here and from the beginning, we had some very good conversations, and also funny conversations!”

“I feel very good with him and it is important to have a good relationship with the coach. I like that he is very modest, a very good character and you can joke with him – but on the other side of things, you have to perform. That’s important to be successful together and I hope we can have a lot of successful times at Liverpool.”

Shaqiri grabbed a brace against Manchester United last weekend and helped his side to a 3-1 at Anfield. The 27-year-old was signed by the Reds last summer from relegated Stoke City for £13.5m. He has already struck the back of the net 5 times this season and contributed further with 3 assists in 17 appearances.

Shaqiri was a star in the Potters lineup but has had to adjust to the overflowing talent surrounding him at Merseyside. He has been effective both as a substitute and as a starter to help Liverpool remain unbeaten so far into this Premier League season.
