Zinedine Zidane Offers Sympathy Towards Unwelcomed Star

Zinedine Zidane is shocked to see Real Madrid fans booing and jeering at Gareth Bale whenever the Welshman picks the ball up at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the Galacticos’ 3-0 victory over Atheltic Bilbao, the 29-year-old started the game on the benches but then came on as a substitute on the 70th minute to assist Karim Benzema for the final goal.

Every touch of the winger’s was met with whistles and taunts from the club’s very own supporters and this is not the first instance of this happening.

When asked about the fans’ reaction to Bale, Zidane said, “I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t understand it.” The Frenchman added, “I feel for him. I would like to have seen him score today.”

Bale’s contract is set to last till the summer of 2022 and he is understandably one of the highest paid players at Madrid. Daily Mail claims that the former Tottenham Hotspur player has spoken privately to his representatives about staying at the Spanish capital due to his ginormous salary.

Zidane reportedly would like to ship the Welshman out for newer additions but that might prove difficult due to the player’s wage bill. At 29, he is still a massive injury concern and his form is no longer the same as he used to be in during his early Los Blancos days.

Not many clubs would agree to pay such a hefty sum for a player who is close to entering his 30s with such a bad fitness record.
