Confident Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has stated that if he moved to England, he would destroy the Premier League defenders.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward, who is known to have a lot of self-belief, has praised the competitiveness of the English Premier League, but he then rounded off the interview by claiming that if he did play in that league, he would destroy it, much like he has elsewhere.
Ibrahimovic has been a star in Dutch football with Ajax, Italian football with Inter Milan, Spanish football with FC Barcelona and now French football with PSG, and despite never playing for an English side, he has full confident that he would be just as good.
‘England is a very strong league, with three or four of the best teams in Europe – but, if I had played there, I would have destroyed it, like I have everywhere else.
‘Arsenal could have happened, as everybody knows – but I would not do a trial. Who do you think regrets that more, Arsene Wenger or Zlatan?’ the 32-year-old was quoted in the Daily Mirror.
‘I’m always amused when I am asked about not having tested myself in England.’
