French striker has been linked with move away
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said that his teammate Anthony Martial’s mood has been good depsite being linked with a move away from the club.
Martial has been spending a fair amount of time on the bench under Jose Mourinho, with speculation growing that there is a feud between the pair.
However, he started on Saturday in United’s 2-0 win over Watford, and the choice paid off for Mourinho, with Martial scoring the second goal.
And team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic says it is just what Martial needed.
“He was good, creating good chances. I felt he was tired in the second half because he was running a lot and he hasn’t played every game. He did well and scored a nice goal. It’ll be good for his confidence and good for the team as well,” said the Swede.
“You need a boost if you don’t play often. You always feel better if you play more, obviously. It’s what every player wants. He hasn’t played a lot but when he has I think he’s done well.“He’s been training well. He’s not a guy who speaks a lot, he’s pretty quiet. He’s been very professional and training hard. He’s always trying to do his best. He’s good in training just like he was in the match.”
eteran Ibrahimovic has some words of encouragement when the moment has been right.
“Help depends on every individual person, what kind of person they are. It depends on his approach and how open they are. He seems to do OK. He’s not going around with his head down. He’s positive, training hard and has a lot of energy. Obviously he wants to play,” added Zlatan.
