David De Gea sends Chelsea warning

0

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, has sent a warning to Chelsea ahead of their weekend clash, claiming they are out to end their unbeaten start.

The two giants go head-to-head at Old Trafford on Sunday, and De Gea is keen to end Chelsea’s almost perfect start to the season.

Jose Mourinho’s men have won all-but one game and are sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League table, but De Gea has warned them that United are ready to end their unbeaten start.

He said: “They (the Blues) have started the Premier League season unbelievable.

“They have won nearly all their matches. They have a great team and great new players. They are a difficult team to beat.

“They are special games against Chelsea and I like them a lot. Everyone wants to play in these games, the top games.

“Of course the other games against any team in England are difficult and you have to focus on every game, but these games are a little bit special.”

Manchester United to offer £90m for Gareth Bale

0

Manchester United are feeling confident about their chances of signing Real Madrid winger, Gareth Bale.

The Red Devils are believed to be considering a deal worth around £90million for the Welshman, who only joined Madrid last Summer, and according to reports, United officials are confident that they can wrap up a deal for the winger.

During his time at White Hart Lane with Tottenham Hotspur, Bale was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, but he eventually secured his dream-move to Spain and since then helped guide the Spanish giants to Champions League glory.

Despite happily settling in in Spain, United are still confident that they can sign Bale and are prepared to spend £90m on the Welshman, breaking the transfer record once again.

As it stands, it isn’t clear whether Bale wants a return to England, but United are ready to offer him a massive contract with huge bonuses and add-ons.

Victor Valdes REJECTS Manchester United contract

0

Free-agent goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, has rejected a short-term contract offer from Manchester United after telling the club he doesn’t want to be David De Gea’s back-up.

The Spaniard, who left FC Barcelona in the Summer after his contract expires, has been out of action since early this year, when he suffered a horrific knee injury, and he has recently been training with Manchester United in order to build up his fitness.

However, that then lead to Louis Van Gaal offering the 32-year-old a short-term contract at the club.

According to Spanish reports, Valdes declined the chance to join the club due to lack of first-team opportunities, but despite turning them down, he will still train with them in order to get fully fit again.

Liverpool and AS Monaco have both been tracking Valdes but so far, neither have offered him concrete contracts.

Carragher: ‘Balotelli will be out by the end of the season’

0

The Italian forward was signed during the summer by Brenden Rodgers for £16m  and has so far been a disappointment, still yet to open his Premier League account with the side.

After being substituted at half-time following a woeful display against Real Madrid, it seems former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has seen enough to make the judgement that Balotelli will not stay with the club beyond this season.

“I can’t change the way I feel about Balotelli, and that is nothing to do with what he’s done in a Liverpool shirt. It’s what he’s done at Manchester City and AC Milan,” he told Sky Sports after the Reds’ 3-0 loss on Wednesday evening.

“Do I think he’s going to be here long-term? No, I’d be surprised to see him here next season if I’m being honest.

“It was a panic. They were on the verge of selling [Fabio] Borini to Sunderland and they were going to go into the season with Rickie Lambert really. Daniel Sturridge is there but he’s got massive injury problems – he always has and he always will.

“We needed someone. Who was available? Who knows who Brendan Rodgers and his scouting staff went for but they left it too late.”

Higuain to reject Liverpool switch

0

Reports this week claimed that Liverpool were prepared to pay £31m to bring Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain to the Premier League to replace the misfiring Mario Balotelli.

Arsenal have also been linked with the striker, who is reportedly not happy with missing out on Champions League football with the Italian side.

But the player’s brother Frederico claims these reports are far from the truth and he will remain in Serie A.

He told calciomercato: “I have read and heard different things about my brother, but none of these things correspond to reality.

“People have spoken of the disappointment of not qualifying for the Champions League, and that this has caused resentment from Gonzalo.

“Nothing could be further from the truth. When I speak to my brother he is calm, and happy to wear the shirt of Napoli.

“His future is still with the Partenopei.”

It now remains to be seen whether Arsenal and Liverpool continue to pursue the Argentine or if these comments have put an end to all speculation.

Liverpool look to bring in new number one

0

Liverpool are confident of signing Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto in January, and are prepared to immediately place him in the first team.

Current Reds’ keeper Simon Mignolet has been the subject of criticism for his form so far this season, and manager Brendan Rodgers is now looking for a new recruit.

Neto was linked with Liverpool last week and now it would appear a move is on the cards after the player rejected a three year contract extension from Fiorentina.

Luiz reveals why he left Chelsea

0

David Luiz has revealed that Jose Mourinho wasn’t the reason for him leaving Chelsea for PSG in the previous transfer window.

It had been rumoured that there may have been a fallout between Luiz and Mourinho, but the Brazilian insists this is not true and that he left on his own accord.

“Chelsea offered me a new contract. It was my decision to leave. I don’t have a problem with Mourinho.”

Mourinho in the past has said that he misses Luiz on a professional level, but “as a central defender, not at all.”

Luiz’s £50 million move made him the most expensive defender of all time, joining his Brazilian National Team captain Thiago Silva in the French capital.

“PSG showed me a nice plan for the moment and for the future,” he said. “When they showed it to me, I decided it was where I wanted to go.”

Luiz added that he wouldn’t celebrate if he was to score against his former employers.

“I would not celebrate because I respect all the teams I have played for and Chelsea gave me a lot of good things. I was happy at Chelsea as well. I respect the club and the fans.”

Liverpool should pay extra to recall Origi- Owen

0

Liverpool legend Michael Owen has urged Brendan Rodgers to recall Divock Origi from his loan spell at Lille, to help solve Liverpool’s forward crisis.

With Daniel Sturridge out injured and Mario Balotelli failing to deliver so far, Liverpool are left with just Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini upfront.

Origi was signed for £6 million from Lille after impressing in the summer’s World Cup for Belgium where he scored once in the group stages.

Liverpool have to wait until the end of the season before they are allowed to recall Origi, but Owen says they should go all out to get him back in January.

Owen tweeted: “If I was Brendan Rodgers I would pay an extra few million and try to get Origi to the club 6 months earlier than originally agreed. With Sturridge out, I don’t know what options Brendan Rodgers.”

The Reds have found it extremely difficult to fill the gaping hole left by Luis Suarez’s departure to Barcelona.

Liverpool are already 9 points off leaders Chelsea and face an important home game against Hull on Saturday.

Luis in Spanish tax probe

0

Hacienda, the Spanish Tax Office is looking into the deal that took Filipe Luis from Deportivo la Coruna to Atletico Madrid in July 2010.

Brendan Rodgers hints at Balotelli exit

0

Mario Balotelli’s time at Liverpool coud already be numbered after Brendan Rodgers admitted that he may not be at the club for the long-term.

The Italian striker has been poor for The Reds since arriving at Anfield in the Summer from AC Milan, and his reputation got even further damaged last night after he was seen swapping shirts with Pepe at half-time during the club’s tie with Real Madrid.

Balotelli put in yet another below-par performance during the 3-0 defeat and he was hauled off by Rodgers at half-time, and replaced by Adam Lallana.

After the game, Rodgers defended the striker, but also hinted that he may not be at the club for long.

‘Mario is working hard on the training field. As long as he’s doing his best that’s all I can ask for,’ said the Reds boss.

‘Whether Mario’s best is good enough longer term, that remains to be seen.’

Besiktas eye Petr Cech

0

Turkish outfit, Besiktas, are interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper, Petr Cech, after the two clubs agreed to a partnership together.

The veteran shot-stopper has been dropped to the bench this season after Thibaut Courtois took the number-one spot at Stamford Bridge, and despite staying during the Summer, Cech could be seeking an exit in the New Year with his game-time currently limited.

The 32-year-old has been a substitute for most matches so far this season, and after admitting that he may leave if things don’t change, a whole host of European clubs have declared their interest in the goalkeeper.

As well as Besiktas, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all shown interest in the Czech international.

However, Cech’s decade-long association with Chelsea could end with Besiktas in pole position to land the veteran after they agreed a partnership with Chelsea, and an agent has recently revealed that a move to Turkey could be in the pipeline for Cech.

He said: “We have not held talks yet. However, Chelsea have recently made an agreement with Besiktas. Chelsea have similar deals with Vitesse and other clubs.

“If Cech does become available Besiktas would become a potential destination.”

David De Gea laughs off Real Madrid interest

0

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, has rubbished reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Spaniard has been impressive so far this season for Louis Van Gaal, and his performances have caught the eye of Carlo Ancelotti, who is looking for a suitable replacement for Iker Casillas, who could be on his way out of the Bernabeu.

The 23-year-old is seen as the ideal replacement for the club-legend, but he has put United fans at ease by saying his future is at Old Trafford.

According to reports, the goalkeeper is on the verge of signing a new contract in Manchester, and he has confirmed that he is happy in England.

“Those are rumours. I am happy here”, said De Gea.

The news will come as a big relief to United fans, who were worried about their star-man jumping ship in order to join Madrid.

Jordan Henderson talks about shirt-swap

0

Liverpool midfielder, Jordan Henderson, has revealed that no-one knew about Mario Balotelli swapping shirts at half-time.

The Reds striker was seen swapping with Real Madrid defender, Pepe, despite the game only reaching half-time, and the scoreline being 3-0 to the Spanish side.

Social media exploded after watching Balotelli embrace the opposition despite the embarrassing scoreline, and his actions angered both fans and the manager, Brendan Rodgers, who revealed after the game their plans to deal with the striker.

It’s a similar situation to that of Andre Santos at Arsenal when he visibly swapped shirts with Robin Van Persie at Old Trafford whilst walking off for half-time.

After the game, Liverpool’s vice-captain said this on the matter: “It hasn’t been discussed in the dressing room.

“I don’t think anyone knew he had even done it. It’s certainly the first I’ve heard of it.”

Arsene Wenger hints at Podolski stay

0

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that forward, Lukas Podolski, may remain at the Emirates Stadium, despite wanting out of the club in January.

The German international has fallen down the pecking order in recent months, and with Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck both arriving over the Summer, his status in the first-team has been damaged even further.

However, Podolski got his chance last night coming on as a substitute during Arsenal’s Champions League tie with Anderlecht, and with the score at 1-0 to the Belgium side, the World Cup winner had a chance to shine, and he didn’t waste that opportunity.

After Kieran Gibbs netted a superb equaliser for The Gunners in the 89th minute, it was Podolski who stole all three points for the Premier League side with a calm finish in stoppage time, and after the game, Wenger admitted that he wants to keep the German past the New Year, but believes they need to see more of him.

‘Lukas is frustrated and I understand that, but he’s never been close to leaving,’ Wenger explained.

‘He will be important in the coming months – it took him a while to get back to a good physical level after the World Cup, but now he’s nearly there.’
