Giovinco puts Prem duo on alert

0

Sebastian Giovinco has threatened to leave Juventus in January if his playing time at the club is not increased.

The Italy forward has struggled to find first-team opportunities at the Serie A giants, starting just one league match this season.

“Either there is a viable plan for him, or he can leave,” Giovinco’s agent,Andrea D’Amico said.

“Giovinco grew up with Juventus, then went out [to Empoli and Parma] and proved his worth.

“Who would be interested [if her were to leave]? It’s obvious, everyone would be.”

These comments have both Arsenal and Liverpool waiting in the wings to persuade the forward to move to the Premier League once the transfer window re-opens.

And his agent claims he will have to start paying attention to the interest if the Bianconeri can’t offer regular playing time.

Arsenal to make move for Higuain

0

Arsenal are ready to renew their interest in Napoli striker, Gonzalo Higuain.

The Gunners were close to signing the Argentinian back in the Summer of 2013, but after choosing to pursue Luis Suarez instead, Arsene Wenger missed out on signing the striker as he eventually joined Serie A side, Napoli instead.

Rafael Benitez’s side forked out £32million for Higuain, who signed from Real Madrid, and since then, he has been a real hit in Italy, sparking interest from Liverpool and also FC Barcelona.

However, according to reports in Spain, Arsenal are now ready to renew their interest in the 26-year-old as Arsene Wenger eyes more striking power.

Wenger is also being linked with Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain.

Ander Herrera involved in match-fixing

0

Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera, is being investigated for match fixing during his time in Spain.

The Spaniard was involved in a match between Real Zaragoza and and Levante back in the 2010/2011 season, and with it being the final game of the season, Herrera’s team knew that a loss would relegate them from the top-flight.

However, according to Spanish reports, Levante players were paid to throw the game so that Zaragoza could stay in La Liga, rather than be relegated to the league below.

Although it was Levante stars that were paid to throw the game, it’s believed that Herrera also took a cut but later returned it.

It’s thought that Spanish investigators will hold talks with the United midfielder in order to discuss what happened during the controversial game.

Liverpool nearly did Cavani-Suarez transfer swap

0

Liverpool were close to securing a player-swap deal involving Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez.

The Reds were in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain discussing the potential transfer of the two strikers, but it wasn’t until late on when Suarez told Brendan Rodgers he wanted to move to FC Barcelona instead.

Officials from both clubs (PSG and Liverpool) met up and held talks about the potential Cavani-Suarez swap deal, and were both keen to wrap up the deal, but after returning from the World Cup, Suarez revealed his plans to move to Spain.

Suarez then eventually joined Barcelona in a deal worth £75million, and Cavani stayed in France, with Liverpool signing Mario Balotelli from AC Milan instead.

Carlo Ancelotti: ‘Khedira may leave, but not until Summer’

0

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has told Premier League trio; Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, that Sami Khedira may leave the club, but won’t be going anywhere until the Summer.

The German international is coming to the end of his contract at the Bernabeu, and with no plans on extending his stay, the midfielder could agree to leave the club as soon as the New Year.

Accoring to numerous reports, the English trio were all keen on signing him on the cheap in January, but Ancelotti has now told them that they won’t be selling him in January and have accepted that they may lose him on a free in the Summer.

“We have until June to reach an agreement with him,” he told the London Evening Standard.

“If he wants to sign an extension, the club will renew him. If not, he will leave the team at the end of the season.”

It was suggested that a £10million bid would be accepted by Madrid in January, but it now appears that the Spanish side are ready to risk losing him for nothing come next year.

Manchester United offer mega deal to midfielder

0

Louis van Gaal has sanctioned a bumper contract offer for Sami Khedira in order to try and beat Chelsea and Arsenal to his signature.

The Real Madrid star looks set to move on after contract extension talks with the club stalled. Arsenal were reported to have made a pre-contract offer to try and tempt the player to the Emirates, while former boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bring him to Chelsea and allow Cesc Fabregas to play in a more advanced role.

But United seem to have entered the bidding with a long term contract offer communicated to the player’s agent worth a whopping £5.5m a year. Van Gaal is keen to bring in a new midfield man after apparently giving up on Arturo Vidal and Kevin Strootman.

Madrid however insist Khedira won’t be sold in January, claiming further contract talks are scheduled for after Christmas. Should they let the German star go they may well end up turning their attention to former United target Vidal as a replacement.

AC Milan keeping close eye on Liverpool youngster Suso

0

AC Milan wanted the Spaniard on a long-term loan deal and made a formal offer for the 20-year-old in the summer transfer window but advances were rejected by Brendan Rodgers.

However, Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has remained desperate to bring Suso to the San Siro, who’s contract expires at the end of the current season.

He said: “Transfer market? I know where can improve, but I don’t tell that to you.

“Suso? He has an expiring contract and he’ll tell us if he wants to move or stay.”

Suso has played just 21 times for Liverpool since signing for the Anfield club from Cadiz in 2010.

Manchester United move to re-sign defender

0

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has made Gerard Pique his top priority in January, with an eye towards a £20m bid.

Pique moved to Manchester from Barcelona in 2004 and spent four years there, although one of those years was spent on loan at Real Zaragoza. He eventually returned to the Nou Camp for £5m in 2008, where he cemented a first team place and helped the Catalan club win La Liga four times and the Champions League twice.

Van Gaal has funds to spend in January even after United’s busy summer window, and has identified defence as the area that requires strengthening the most urgently. Doubts remain over their current defenders and the summer signings of Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw have only went some way towards easing their defensive problems.

Spanish star Pique has found himself down the pecking order at Barca since the arrival of Luis Enrique as head coach. The new boss has opted for Jeremy Mathieu and Javier Mascherano as his central defensive partnership, limiting the centre back to five appearances this season, and as such Pique may be tempted by a move away.

One problem that may stand in van Gaal’s way is Pique’s popstar girlfriend Shakira. The singer is reportedly unenthusiastic about moving to Manchester which could mean the offer from United to the player has to be unrefusable.

A club source called the potential deal tough but confirmed the interest; “The manager knows he still needs to strengthen his defence and would love to sign Pique. He is a former United player so he knows the club and Pique is a player he can build his defence around. Signing him from Barcelona won’t be easy though.”

Liverpool keen on Porto sensation

0

Liverpool are prepared to battle top teams from Spain and Italy for the signature of Porto sensation, Ruben Neves.

The 17-year-old is already being monitored by Serie A champions, Juventus, and several more clubs from around Europe, including a few from La Liga.

The Portuguese U-21 international, who has made 10 first-team appearances for Porto, has already been watched on three separate occasions by Liverpool scouts, and Brendan Rodgers has received glowing reports from his team.

Despite only being 17, Neves is already being compared to FC Barcelona star, Sergio Busquets.

Chelsea eye Giannelli Imbula

0

Chelsea scouts are currently watching Marseille midfielder, Giannelli Imbula, as a potential alternative to Real Madrid star, Sami Khedira.

The Blues have been watching the German international as Jose Mourinho eyes another holding-midfielder, but due to serious competition with Manchester United and Arsenal, Mourinho is telling his scouts to look elsewhere.

According to reports, with Chelsea not confident about their chances of signing Khedira, they are now monitoring the 22-year-old from France, who has impressed the club’s scouts during their time watching him.

The Belgium-born midfielder, who joined Marseille for just £6million last year, could go for £25m with Chelsea prepared to splash the cash on his services.

United to swoop for Marcelo if Madrid buy Alaba

0

Real Madrid left back Marcelo could be heading to Manchester United after it emerged Real may sell the Brazilian in order to sign Bayern’s David Alaba.

Los Blancos are keen to sign the versatile Alaba which could mean that Marcelo would be in the market.

Summer recruit Luke Shaw has struggled to hit the ground running at Old Trafford, and an experienced full back is high on Louis van Gaal’s wishlist.

This news may baffle United fans as the club have spent £30 million on Shaw and £16 million on Marcos Rojo, who played at left back so effectively in the summer’s World Cup.

United are also said to be interested in Barcelona left back Jordi Alba, but that deal is unlikely to occur.

Podolski tweet ends Tottenham speculation

0

The German has been at the centre of much transfer speculation this week, with reports claiming he could make a move across North London to rivals Tottenham as part of a £10m deal.

Talk of Podolski leaving after just two years at the club has arisen due to the lack of playing time he has been getting this season, but the former Cologne man took to twitter to shut down any rumours linking him with a Spurs move.

The 29 year-old wrote: “Hell will freeze over before this transfer would happen,” in reaction to the story being broken on BBC Sport’s rumour mill.

Although it is clear he will not be joining the White Hart Lane side, talk of an exit is still circulating as the German is yet to start a single league match this season and his only full time appearance was against Southampton in the Capital One Cup.

Dani Alves preparing for Barcelona exit

0

Dani Alves’ agent has claimed that she doesn’t believe her client will sign a new Barcelona deal. The defender has just one year left on his current deal, meaning he would be able to leave on a free in the summer and it has put Man City and Man United on red alert.

The Brazilian has achieved a lot at Barca, making over 300 appearances for the club, but his time at the Nou Camp appears to be drawing to a close. His representative, Dinah Santana, has told TMW: “If the club [Barcelona] wanted to renew Alves they would have done it already.

“I would not do things the way they have. We will leave the suitors until December or January… then we’ll decide who to marry.”

With this announcement, it appears that by the end of next season we will see the right-back in a different teams colours. A move could come as soon as January, as Barcelona won’t be keen on letting Alves leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Diego Costa a doubt for crunch tie with Manchester United

0

Jose Mourinho has revealed Diego Costa could miss Chelsea’s trip to Manchester United on Sunday with a persistent hamstring problem.

Mourinho and Chelsea are still fuming after Costa returned from international duty unfit to play.

And Mourinho has revealed that the nine goal striker, who missed Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace and is set to miss their Champions League tie against Maribor, isn’t even fit to train at the moment.

“It is the same problem. Only now it is an injury, not an ‘almost’ injury. It’s simple. Costa is not training because he is not in a condition to do so.”

“I have no idea how long he will be out. The weekend is not important right now – tomorrow he will not play.”

Chelsea are also heading in to the tie on Tuesday without midfielders Ramires, Jon Obi Mikel and Andre Schurrle through fitness problems.

Carlo Ancelotti wants Premier League return

0

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he would like to return to the Premier League. The manager won both the Premier League and the FA Cup in his first year in charge at Chelsea back in 2010, only to be sacked a year later.

He was then put in charge of PSG, where he won Ligue 1, before taking over the reigns at current club Real Madrid, winning the Champions League with the Galacticos last year. Now, the gaffer has revealed he would like a return to England.

He said: “I loved England – I was very happy at Chelsea. I liked the atmosphere, the supporters. I have the best memories. I’d like to return.

“It depends how long this adventure lasts. If it lasts a long time I will retire after it. But if it doesn’t then I will come to England. For sure. The day I leave Madrid there are two solutions. Either I quit football or I come back to England.”

Ancelotti has claimed he would be open to a return to Stamford Bridge in the future, but he doubts that such a move would materialise, saying: “No, I don’t think Abramovich will change his mind.

“I know he did with [Jose] Mourinho. As I said I have no problem with Abramovich. They were two beautiful years. But it’s not about a particular club, it’s about the atmosphere.

“But I don’t say no. I certainly wouldn’t say no.”
