Chelsea to match United’s Khedira bid

0

Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira will have a number of Premier League clubs to choose from come January.

Chelsea are the newest entrants to the race as they are ready to match Manchester United’s offer of £10million for the German international. The holding midfielder has less than a year to go on his current deal, and is looking for a way out of Madrid. Last season’s Champions League winners are not prepared to lose Khedira for nothing, and are ready to listen to bids in the upcoming transfer window.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wnats his team to have more cover in that area of the field, Cesc Fabregas is currently playing alongside Nemanja Matic at the base of a midfield five, but Mourinho wants another defensive-minded midfielder to give him more options and help stifle attack-minded teams.

Is Higuain the solution to Liverpool’s striking problems?

0

Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain for a reported £22 million plus Lucas Leiva in exchange.

With Daniel Sturridge out injured and Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert having not been able to hit the ground running, Rodgers is forced to dabble in the transfer market for a proven goalscorer.

The enormous hole left by Luis Suarez is proving difficult to fill as was expected.

Napoli boss Rafa Benitez may be tempted by the deal, having bought Lucas to Liverpool back in 2007. Higuain is said to be unhappy in Italy and wants to play Champions League football.

Napoli were beaten in the final Champions League qualification round by Athletic Bilbao, missing out on the millions of revenue, meaning Benitez may have to sell before spending.

With the Italians languishing in 8th place in Serie A, the Argentine Higuain could be on his way out as early as January, when the transfer window reopens.

Higuain has been a relatively prolific scorer throughout his career, netting 161 goals from 356 senior appearances.

Rodgers: Balotelli needs to improve

0

Brendan Rodgers has told Mario Balotelli to start contributing more after the Reds loss to FC Basel in the Champions League. The striker hasn’t been doing well since his move to Anfield in the summer and he disappointed once again on Wednesday night in Europe.

He also walked straight off the pitch at the end of the game, instead of acknowledging all of the travelling Liverpool supporters. Boss Brendan Rodgers has now warned Balotelli to improve soon to help get the Reds out of their ‘difficult moment.’ He said:

“In terms of his behaviour since he came into here the boy is consciously trying to work hard at the aspects of the game that we would demand: intensity and work-rate. In terms of goals, he needs to improve.

“It is as simple as that. Any striker, not just him, is judged on his goals and the number of assists you make. At this moment he has not hit the numbers he will have wanted. And over the course of the team that is the same.

“We need to return to being a team. That has brought us success over the last 18-months.”

Liverpool slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Basel and the Italian forward didn’t have a single touch in the Basel penalty area all game. Rodgers wants the ex-Man City man to remed that, saying: “I encourage the strikers to get into the framework of the goal, for wide players to come in and get into the framework of the goal and go and break the lines.

“I think our service and quality in the final third wasn’t to the standard it should be. And you have to be able to make and create goals yourself as a front player and he (Balotelli) didn’t do that.”

Rodgers also spoke about the underwhelming start to the season in general for the club and the loss of Suarez, adding: “There was big change here in the summer and we lost a world class player and had to improve the squad by bringing in a number of players.

“Unfortunately it brings us into a little bit of transition again. We are in a difficult moment. we are nowhere near what we have been.”

Paco Alcacer to snub Arsenal and Chelsea

0

Valencia star Paco Alcacer looks set to snub Arsenal and Chelsea and sign a new, lucrative deal at Valencia. The 21-year old has broken onto the scene in La Liga over the past few seasons and he is already off to a flying start this year with four goals and three assists so far.

His outstanding form has seen him called up to the Spain squad by Vicente Del Bosque and he is starting to attract interest from clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Arsenal and Chelsea are also very interested in the striker and both teams were preparing January bids for the Spaniard.

However, Alcacer has put to bed any hopes that Mourinho and Wenger had of signing him, by claiming that he isn’t interested in a Prem move. He told reporters: “Do not bother me with this story, I know what I want. When the time comes I will sign a renewal.

“For now I play and when everything’s ready I’ll put the signature on the contract.”

Podolski wants Arsenal exit

0

Lukas Podolski has dropped a massive hint that he could be set to leave Arsenal in January. The German has only been used as a substitute so far this season, in seven of the Gunners games in all competitions, with his only start coming in the Capital One Cup against Southampton.

And after being on the bench again against Galatasaray in the Champions League, the 29-year old has suggested that he could leave the Emirates Stadium in January if he doesn’t get more game time. He said: “I am a full blooded player, a street player and I love competition. If I don’t have this competition every weekend then a change must occur.

“We will have to see. But it is certainly something one has to think about.”

Podolski has been at Arsenal since his move from Cologne back in 2012.

Suso out for two months

0

Liverpool’s injury problems have worsened with the news that starlet, Suso, will be out for up to two months following groin surgery.

The Spaniard made a post on his official Instagram account about his surgery and confirmed that he wouldn’t be in action until December.

He wrote: “Hellow (sic) everyone. Just to tell you I’ll be out of the team for a couple of months with a surgery operation next week coz of my groins … I’ll be back soon.. Stronger than ever..????YNWA”.

Suso’s injury rounds off a terrible week for Brendan Rodgers after seeing his team concede a late equaliser to rivals, Everton, and then losing in the Champions League to Swiss side, FC Basel.

Manchester United to bid £10m for Khedira

0

Manchester United are desperate to beat Arsenal and Chelsea to the signing of Real Madrid midfielder, Sami Khedira.

The German international is set to leave the Bernabeu next Summer once his contract expires, but United are ready to offer £10m in order to sign him in January, beating rivals Chelsea and Arsenal to his signature.

The two London clubs were keen on waiting until the Summer before trying to sign the midfielder on a free transfer, but with reports that United are ready to make a bid as soon as the New Year, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho may have to ramp up their interest.

After being told by AS Roma officials that Kevin Strootman will not be leaving in January, Louis Van Gaal has been forced to look at potential back-ups, and it’s believed Khedira is next on his list.

The 27-year-old has been told by Madrid that he must sign a new deal or leave in January so that they can make money from the sale.

Wantaway Newcastle star to Arsenal for £15million?

0

Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew is under increasing pressure. The Magpies start to the season has been less than impressive to say the very least, and after getting the Chairman’s dreaded ‘vote of confidence’ in recent days, now one of his midfield stars wants to leave the club.

After four years at Newcastle, Ivorian midfielder Cheick Tiote wants to move on.

Pardew will only reluctantly listen to offers, and potential buyers are going to need to offer a minimum of £15million to secure Tiote’s services. The under-fire boss had recently said that he wanted to secure a new deal for the midfielder, and that it was ‘top priority’.

Devout Muslim, Tiote, who has played for his country nearly 50 times, has recently been in the headlines for non-footballing reasons. It was reported by the Newcastle Chronicle on Monday that he had taken a second wife. His agent later confirmed the news. It was later reported that upon hearing the news, his mistress, with whom he has a child, ended their three-year affair, stating: ‘You clearly have a big family, I don’t think you can keep count of your wives anymore!’

Of course Newcastle fans will be hoping he stays, but whether he moves or not, Tiote will be looking to secure a better deal one way or the other. He may need the money!

Chelsea make formal offer for Sami Khedira ahead of Arsenal

0

Chelsea were keen on the German World Cup winner throughout the summer transfer window and while no official bid was made then, The Blues have maintained their intereset and are believed to have now made a formal offer to lure Khedira to Stamford Bridge in January.

Khedira will be out of contract at the end of the year and Real Madrid are desperate to sell the 27-year-old during the upcoming transfer window in the new year to prevent him from departing for free next summer.

Arsenal meanwhile have rekindled their interest in the last few days but Chelsea are believed to be leading the race.

Arsenal keen on £55 million Edinson Cavani transfer

0

The Gunners were interested in signing Cavani during the summer transfer window when the 27-year-old looked destined for a move away from the Parc de Princes, but he opted to say put instead.

However, former PSG goalkeeper Jerome Alonzo has said that Cavani has become ‘sad’ and ‘unrecognisable’ in France and could be set for a transfer during the January transfer window.

According to reports Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen on the Uruguayan, but the Daily Star has suggested that Arsenal are leading the race for the player’s signature and are the clear favourites to sign Cavani, with a transfer fee rumoured to be around £55 million.

Liverpool star in bumper £40m deal!

0

Liverpool need Daniel Sturridge right now. The Anfield team’s fluctuating fortunes in all competitions so far this year has come in conjunction with the star striker being sidelined for a month.

The red side of the city will be delighted at the news that Sturridge is set to put pen to paper on a new deal which will more than double his current salary at the club.

Sturridge can expect to see his wages rise from £65,000-a-week to beyond £150,000-a-week.

It has taken a while to sort the new contract out. Talks began way back at the end of last season, but now it would seem, both sides are in agreement.

As with all the contracts that Liverpool offer , the terms will be performance-related. This means Sturridge will be rewarded financially for his performances on the pitch, and could earn him over £40million during the duration of the deal.

The much-improved offer is a reflection of the progress the England international has made since arriving on Merseyside. He moved from Stamford Bridge for £12m in January 2013 and has so far netted 36 goals in 52 appearances.

The Kop will be delighted to see him back, however it remains to be seen as to whether Brendan Rodgrs will play Sturridge alongside new boy Mario Balotelli in the coming weeks. Opinion is still divided on the Italian striker, and it has to be said, it’s been a frustrating start to his Anfield career. Maybe the re-introduction of the lad from Birmingham will kick start his season.

Sturridge has been out of action for a month with a thigh injury picked up while on duty with the national side, but could well return to the line up when Liverpool host West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

0

Manager Brendan Rodgers has made Benzema his top transfer target for January for his side who are looking for a new world-class striker.

And despite Madrid publicly ruling out a move for 26-year-old Benzema and confirming a stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for the Frenchman, Liverpool believe that they will be able to land Benzema if they offer £38.8 million on the table for the striker.

It is said that Real Madrid are already looking for a replacement and Liverpool are set to make space for the move by letting go of Rickie Lambert.

Mourinho reveals heated exchange in Lisbon

0

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he had a heated exchange with Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio after the final whistle on Tuesday night.

Mourinho saw his side beat the Portuguese club 1-0 away from home, and has spoken about an off-camera debate with Patricio straight after the game had finished,

Mourinho said: “I’m not going to repeat the words [I said to Patricio] because they’d be censored.

“It was something to do with spoiling the evening, spoiling the night.

“[Mohamed] Salah came in and there were great saves from Patricio. Games like this can end up 4-0 or 5-0, but it ended up 1-0 and a well managed goal.

“We had to make sure we closed all avenues for them to come back into the game and claim a draw, and that’s what we did.”

The win last night added to their draw with Schalke now sees Chelsea sitting at the top of their Champions League group with qualification well in their hands.

Liverpool close to completing £8m move for English wonderkid

0

Liverpool are closing in on a move for £8million rated MK Dons midfielder Dele Alli.

The 18-year-old is considered one of the hottest names in English football and attracted a lot of attention after showing his talents in Dons’ 3-1 win over Manchester United in August.

Rodgers will hope that the offer of a loan back deal, which would see Alli see out the season at the Buckinghamshire side, will persuade chairman Pete Winkelman to cash-in on the player.

Alli will have seen Raheem Sterling thrive at Liverpool and the summer captures of Emre Can, Lazar Markovic and Divock Origi are further evidence of the Merseyside club’s push to plan for a bright future.

Though Alli turned 18 less than six months ago he has already racked up 56 appearances for the MK Dons, netting 14 goals in the process.
