Liverpool and City eye Newcastle starlet

0

Liverpool and Manchester City are both showing interest in Newcastle Unitd wonderkid, Rolando Aarons.

The youngster, who has only played 39-minutes of Premier League football at Newcastle, is being scouted by both City and Liverpool ahead of a potential deal which could see him move next Summer.

The 18-year-old scored his first ever professional goal for the club last weekend during their thrilling 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace.

According to reports, Liverpool see Aarons as a similar version to Raheem Sterling, and they are considering making a formal move for the teenager either in January or next Summer, depending on how he develops under Alan Pardew throughout this season.

Manchester United eye Jurgen Klopp

0

Manchester United have already got one eye on a potential replacement for Louis Van Gaal, and it’s believed that Borussia Dortmund boss, Jurgen Klopp, is at the top of that list.

It’s thought that officials at United know that they won’t have Van Gaal for an extended period of time due to his age, and they are working hard behind the scenes on putting together a potential list of replacements so that they can hire wisely this time.

The United board and Sir Alex Ferguson got it wrong when they hand-picked David Moyes for the job at Old Trafford, and they are keen to avoid making the same mistake twice when it comes to replacing Van Gaal.

Klopp has won many admirers for his achievements in Germany with Dortmund, and has already been touted as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

However, Klopp has a contract at Dortmund until 2018, and he is keen to see that out before making any move away from the club, meaning United would have four years under Van Gaal, at least.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has admitted that he is ready to sign a new five-year deal at the club.

The 22-year-old has really made a name for himself after enjoying a successful three-year spell in Spain with Atletico Madrid, and he has now revealed that he is ready to commit to Chelsea once he returns from the international break with Belgium.

Arsenal to renew interest in William Carvalho

0

Arsenal will renew their interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder, William Carvalho, after it has been revealed that the Portuguese international rejected a contract extension offered to him.

The midfielder was expected to leave Portugal for England this Summer, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all keen on signing him, but a move was never agreed, despite United and Arsenal making late bids on Monday.

After keeping him past the deadline, Lisbon then wanted to offer Carvalho a new bumper deal in order to fend off any future interest.

However, according to reports, Carvalho has rejected the new deal and that has alerted Arsenal, who will make a fresh move for him in January.

Lisbon wanted to offer him a new deal, which would have upped his release clause to £40million, but after the midfielder rejected the deal, it’s now expected that Arsenal will make a fresh move in January, and will be able to wrap the deal up with the player wanting the move.

Frank Lampard wanted Chelsea stay

0

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has revealed that he would have stayed at Stamford Bridge if a contract extension was offered.

Due to being over 30, the veteran was playing on a one-year running contract, but at the end of last season, the club decided against offering him a new deal, similar to what they did with Ashley Cole, who then joined AS Roma in Italy.

However, for Lampard, he agreed to join for New York FC in America, but due to the season not starting for them yet, he then joined Manchester City on a six-month loan deal, which angered some of the Chelsea fan base.

The 36-year-old however, has now admitted that he wanted to stay at Chelsea, but the club didn’t offer him a 12-month extension, like they did for John Terry.

‘I would have obviously stayed if Chelsea had offered me another year. There was no reason for me to leave,’ he told the Sun.

‘Yes, I wanted to play a bit more regularly but I’m not stupid.

‘If Chelsea had given me a new contract it would have been mad not to take it at the time.

‘I had a chat with Jose Mourinho and both he and the club were always great with me. The decision was made – and I don’t know who made it.

‘I also felt like I didn’t want to be a player who faded away – with that being the last memory people had of me.

‘So maybe it was the right time. Maybe it was right that the club took it out of my hands.’

‘I have no problems with Jose!’

0

Diego Costa has said that he is loving the Premier League so far, and life under Jose Mourinho is all good.

Mourinho’s choice to splash out £32million to purchase the Spaniard from Atletico Madrid this summer is beginning to be justified, with the talisman scoring 4 goals in his first 3 Premier League games.

The international said: “Things are going well with the football, the weather is another matter [laughs].

“Mourinho, [is] all good. I get along really well with him. There are no problems at all.”

Costa is currently on international duty with Spain, and will lead Vicente Del Bosque’s attacking line against a resurgent France this evening.

But will hope to add to his tally on his return to Stamford Bridge when Chelsea take on fellow unbeaten rivalsSwansea next Saturday.

Mourinho reveals why he let Torres leave

0

Torres joined that Italian side earlier this summer after becoming surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard failed to leave up to his £50m price tag which Chelsea paid in January 2011, netting just 20 Premier League goals in 110 games.

But Jose Mourinho insists he only let the club record signing leave because he wanted a “new challenge”.

The Blues boss said: “With Fernando I have to say that as a person and as a professional there is no discussion.

“He is an exceptional guy and professional, but he needed a change. Now he is at Milan and his passion for football will motivate him.

“I am an Inter fan and would have preferred to see him in a Nerazzurri shirt, but because of the affection that we have for Fernando, I hope he does very well with the Rossoneri.”

Ezequiel Lavezzi set to pen new PSG deal

0

The argentine winger looked likely to leave the French capital over the summer but is now committing his future to the club.

There was talk earlier this summer of Lavezzi making a switch to Liverpool, and the deal would fund the purchase of Angel Di Maria.

The World Cup finalist could’ve also seen Inter Milan as a possible destination but after PSG lost out in the race to sign Di Maria, Lavezzi stayed with the Ligue 1 champions.

Talks have already begun about a possible transfer in January, with Inter still reportedly tracking the situation, however it has now been revealed that the French giants are looking to keep the former Napoli man at the Parc des Princes.

Lavezzi’s current deal with PSG expires in 2016, but the Parisien side will look to extend his contract, which includes a pay rise to keep his temptations away from any other clubs.

Mourinho jokes that Kurt Zouma is older than he is

0

New Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has said Jose Mourinho joked about how old he really looked after the youngster opened the lid on the jokeful nature of the Chelsea squad.

The defender joined last January from St Ettiene, and was loaned back to the French club for the remainder of the season. He then joined up with Chelsea for good from pre-season in July.

At just 19 years-old, Zouma has a huge physical presence which makes him stand out for his age, and he claims Mourinho was quick to dish out the jokes.

“The coach, when we were going for the blood test jokingly said, ‘Here, now we’ll see if you lied about your age’.”

Zouma also mentioned that it’s not just Mourinho that joins in with the fun.

“Diego Costa is very, very crazy. Ivanovic makes a lot of jokes too.

“Afterwards the group laugh a little about my age because, well, I’m a big man for 19-years-old.”

The defender understands that he’ll have to bide his time for an appearance at Chelsea, but claims he’s matured since the move.

“When I was at Saint-Etienne and I didn’t play, I immediately got upset. But I learnt.”

“Now there are senior players, stars in my position, and they are doing a great job. I take my time. I am learning besides those defenders. I know my time will come.”

Zouma will now compete with Gary Cahill, John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic in a strong looking Chelsea line up this season, as they look to regain the Premier League title after a few years away from Stamford Bridge.

Juventus claim midfield star Vidal was never for sale

0

Juventus manager Massimo Allegri has confirmed that key player Arturo Vidal was never going to leave the club, despite strong interest from Manchester United this summer.

Louis Van Gaal was rumoured to be readying a bid for the Chilean after a brilliant season for the Italian side last campaign, which saw them win Serie A. £40 million was the rumoured fee, but a bid never materialised.

And Allegri was quick to deny reports that Vidal was ever close to leaving Italy.

“Vidal? He’s never been for sale. The management told me from the beginning that he would stay.”

“We kept a good roster, with many excellent purchases.”

Vidal wasn’t the only player involved in a tussle between both the clubs, after United pipped Allegri’s men to the signing of Radamel Falcao on loan late into the evening of transfer deadline day.

Although Allegri is happy with his new additions, despite not having the same financial muscle as Van Gaal’s side:

“We wanted to improve the squad only by adding high calibre players. That didn’t happen, partly because we know that there are clubs in Europe with completely different budgets to ours. Look at the investments made by Manchester United.”

Juventus will now hope that with Vidal’s short term future at least settled for now, that they can look to retain their Serie A title this season.

The German says that enquiries were made for his services, but no offers were concrete.
