Fergie to Offload Up to Nine Players in Mass Squad Clear-Out

0

After narrowly missing out to Manchester City for the Premier League crown last season, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to ring in the changes around Old Trafford in a bid to ready his  club to compete for their 20th Premier League title. With Chelsea already splashing big money on the likes of highly-rated Belgian youngster Eden Hazard and Bremen winger Marko Marin and rivals City ready to strengthen their squad after the European Championships, it is reported that the club may be ready to off-load up to nine players, including winger Nani.

The Portuguese winger has yet to recieve an extension to his current contract, which runs for two more years, but United will reopen talks with Nani after the European Championships, with Portugal set to play reigning champions Spain on Wednesday evening. This will come as a surprise to most United fans, with the 25 year-old winger impressing over the past two seasons, notching up 17 goals and 30 assists in the league alone.

Another big name set to leave Old Trafford is Dimitar Berbatov, who has struggled to cement a place in the United line-up despite 27 goals in his past 28 league starts, and with just one year left on the strikers contract, United are looking to cash in on the Bulgarian. Ji-Sung Park, Anderson and Federico Macheda may also be set to follow Richie De Laet, Tomasz Kuszczak and Michael Owen out the exit door with several youngsters including Fabio going out on loan.

Ferguson has already brought in Japanese superstar Shinji Kagawa from Dortmund along with Crewe wonderkid Nick Powell, but feels more additions are needed, with promising Porto winger James Rodríguez topping the list. United have also been linked with Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels, along with midfielders Luka Modric, Kevin Strootman and Roma player Danielle De Rossi, who has impressed for Italy at the European Championships.

Could Theo Walcott be set for the exit door at the Emirates?

0

Reports in several english newspapers recently have suggested that Theo Walcott might not be willing to sign a new contract with the gunners this summer. After returning home with the England team after their exit from Euro 2012, the winger looks set for crunch talks with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over whether his place in the squad is still assured, due to the signings of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud in the last few weeks.

After rumours of Robin Van Persie’s imminent exit from the club, Walcott is looking for re-assurance that himself and Van Persie will still both be held in high regard at the club. If these expectations are met by the club, it seems that the England goal hero against Sweden will be staying in North London at the Emirates stadium.

The apparent unrest of Arsenal’s number 14 has sparked interest from a host of big name clubs, including Manchester United and Juventus. With the gunners looking to revive a title challenge, not seen for some years now, they will hope to persuade Walcott to stay and see that the newly formed strike force can challenge the likes of Manchester City for major honours next season.

Seedorf announce Milan exit

0

It has now become a fact. Seedorf will leave Milan.

A summary of Seedorfs words to Milan channel: “I am leaving after 10 wonderful years. I arrived here at a delicate moment in my career, after having thought long and hard, and now I will do the same. I have to consider many aspects.

I am looking for a project that convinces me. I am delighted about how my experience at Milan went. They were intense years, the seasons just flew by, as happens with all the beutiful things in life. I’d like to thank the club president and Adriano Galliani, all of the staff and everybody at Milanello.

As for the fans, I would like to have the chance to thank them in a dignified way when the right moment comes along. I thank Italy which has been my home for 13 years, and where I have brought two children into the world. There will always be a special bond, especially with the city of Milan.

Galliani comments after T. Silva stay

Galliani to Azzuri Italia, about Thiago stay and Z. Ibrahimovic: I feel much better now, after president Silvio Berlusconi’s decision. If the fans are happy? I am also a fan of this club.

We have to thank Berlusconi, this was an act of heroism. We will lose a lot of money by keeping Thiago Silva, but Berlusconi will pump that money into the club himself.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Of course that he will stay. We are fully covered in all areas.

Official: Thiago stays at Milan!

The Brazilian was about to pack his bags when the club’s supremo decided to stall the transfer, and make an official say about the sale.

Two days ago Mr. President said: We have to sell Thiago, I cannot keep him because of the financial situation.

But something happened after Maldini and Cassanos critical comments about Thiago’s transfer and after the rossoneri fans expressed their dissatsfaction. The supremo maestro did the same thing he did when PSG was trying to sign the young Brazilian forward in january. He changed his mind, letting Galliani and co. know that the player is going nowhere!

Official pressrelease acmilan.com – President Silvio Berlusconi has decided that Thiago Silva will stay at Milan.

More will follow, since the agent of Thiago Silva has claimed a new contract with a higher salary. They want the doubble amount of what the player earns today witch means something around 7 million euros / annum. It sounds fair since PSG offered 9 million euro / annum.

Thiago – PSG almost a done deal!

According to Skysports, Thiago is on his way of signing with the French giants. Reports claim that Thiago is signing a 4-year contract worth 9.5 million euros, and his price will be close to 50 million euros.

Yesterday’s subject all over Italy was if Thiago’s departure was good for the club, and all experts made their analyses about the departure, both from an economic perspective and from the players’ perspective.

Tuesday 2012-06-12

Thiago Silva’s agent confirms Milan talks and Galliani was spotted in France this morning, here are some of his agent’s, Paulo Fernando Tonietto, statements to Tuttomercatoweb:

“There are negotiations between Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, but I do not know if the Rossoneri will sell him.”

“It is true that the biggest clubs in Europe have contacted Milan regarding Thiago. We are talking about one of the most important players of their squad.”

“I can only say that if Milan decides to sell Thiago, it would be the highlight of his career.”

Analysis:

From on economic point of view everyone agrees on one thing, the Pato-story. If Milan would have gone through with the Pato-deal we wouldn’t be in today’s ‘Thiago scenario’.

What does the player want? The latest interview from the Brazilian, shows that Thiago truly wants a Milan stay and he is all about how big he wants to become within the club and that he is waiting to be the team’s captain. Is this true? Is he really a future Milan icon? Or is he just doing like everyone else, saying that they will stay and then leave the very day after? You never know!

Football isn’t solely about passion anymore, money plays an increasing role in the decision making of players. A player can seriously not say that the French League 1 is better than the Serie A, but as we all know it the Brazilians have a weakness for money, so we’ll just have to wait and see…

Brendan Rodgers is Liverpools new manager

0

After a lot of back and forth, Liverpool at last got a new manager. Bredan Rogers will sign a three-year contract at Anfieldand and Liverpool will pay Swansea between £4m and £5m. Liverpool is a big step up for Rogers, he has only worked as a manager since 2008.

PREDICTION: Norway – England

England vs. Norway

Hodgson prepare his first game as England national coach versus the two year undefeated Norwegian national team.

Experts find it hard to tip an England win because of Norways recent good home display. But in my opinion the best attack wins, and the key to win the game is that Hodgson shouldn’t start with the duo Carroll-Downing. It’s a big difference between these two teams and if this was an official cap England would easily see off Norway.

The best play is U 2.5 goals at 1.66, cause of the “Hodgson defensive play” against a Norway without any creativity at all between attack-midfield.

Game play!

U 2.5: at 1.66

1X2, 2: at 2.20

And for those who want to spend big bucks, DNB England at 1.53.

Good luck!
