Who are the Worst Chelsea Players? Have you ever thought of finding out which players have played for Chelsea and have been considered to be their worst players? Well if you have then worry not because we have prepared a list of the Top 10 Worst Chelsea Players Ever. Watch & Bet Football Live >

Chelsea have made some questionable purchases over the years and a number of new signings such as Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata tha latest ones to have flopped. So we hve looked through history and selected our Top 10 Worst Chelsea Players of All Time.

Top 10 Worst Chelsea Players of All Time

10. Juan Sebastian Veron

The once quality Argentine star just couldn’t cope in England, failing to live up to 15m pricetag as he arrived at Chelsea.

He coincidentally, also featured on our list of the worst United signings, so not a good time for Veron, then.

Whilst all are agreed that Veron was a quality player on his day – it seemed he just couldn’t quite hack it in England, although to be fair, many argue his stint with Chelsea was far better than when he was at United.

9. Yossi Benayoun

Barely appeared for the Blues, and was held in such low regard he was even allowed to leave on loan to rivals Arsenal.

Occasionally got the job done when called upon, but usually put in below-par performances and did not impress by any means.

8. Andriy Shevchenko

A signing forced upon the team by the owner Roman Abramovich and at £30.1m one of their most expensive mistakes, with 22 goals in three years.

He still keeps a good relationship with the club, and is often seen at games – and still held in fairly high regard as a man by the fans, hence his lower position on this list.

7. Chris Sutton

A great striker, so great a striker in fact, he was a Premier League winner with Blackburn Rovers when arriving for £10m in 1999 and although that can never be taken away from him, one goal in 28 games for Chelsea is certainly what would be seen as a “flop”.Believe it or not, some of our younger readers, 10m was a LOT of money back then.

6. Gabriele Ambrosetti

‘The Next Ryan Giggs’ fans were told by manager Gianluca Vialli about this £3.5m winger in 1999.

He managed to play just 16 games across four years. One of the biggest Chelsea flops then.

Not quite Ryan Giggs-esqe, then.

5. Mark Bosnich

You’d think Chelsea would really learn not to take on United rejects as Bosnich played just seven times in two years, despite a huge pay packet – and he was even sacked eventually, because of a failed drugs test.

Not quite Petr Cech standard, then.

4. Fernando Torres

50 Million pounds for a striker who had been injured at the World Cup, and quite frankly hadn’t looked the same ever since.

He had a mediocre season for Liverpool before leaving, including two great goals AGAINST Chelsea, before then signing for them on Transfer Deadline Day.

Some fans argue his goal against Barcelona in the Champions League on the way to Chelsea’s victory in Munich paid some of the fee back. Watch & Bet Football Live >

Others would rather just forget he was ever in West London. But certainly one of the biggest Chelsea flops at Stamford Bridge.

3. Winston Bogarde

For sheer stubbornness the defender almost has to be admired. Signed by Vialli who was quickly sacked, new man Ranieri wanted Bogarde out and the Dutchman refused. Cue four years of £40,000-a-week wages and 11 appearances.

He went on record as saying that he was only interested in the money, even if it meant he would never play – and that’s exactly what happened. Not the nicest of blokes, and not even the best of footballers.

2. Alvaro Morata

It’s actually pretty tough to decide which player has flopped the most at Chelsea. There are two potential targets, Morata or Bakayoko. But we have decided to respect the total numbers of goals the Spaniard scored for the Blues, so he earned himself the second spot.

In summer 2017, Chelsea announced that they had agreed terms with Real Madrid for the transfer of Morata, for a reported club-record fee of around £60 million. After winning so many titles and awards with previous sides Juventus and Real Madrid, you would think he continue to flourish even in England.

Eventually, he ended up scoring 16 goals in 47 Premier League games, which for a player of his caliber is quite low.

1. Tiemoue Bakayoko

From the top all the way to very nearly rock bottom. That’s what Tiemoue Bakayoko has gone through in the space off a couple years. The 25-year-old France midfielder joined the Blues from the then-Ligue 1 champions in July 2017 but struggled to make an impression and was sent on loan to AC Milan for the 2018-19 campaign.

At AC Milan alone, he went from zero to savior, before his time on loan ended in racial abuse from opposing fans and personal conflict with the head coach, Gennaro Gattuso, who was subsequently sacked as well after the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

It is quite unfortunate that things did not work out between Bakayoko and Chelsea, especially after the Blues invested heavily in him as the eventual successor to Nemanja Matic. Matic left a season too soon, forcing Bakayoko into action far too soon, both physically and mentally. Watch & Bet Football Live >25
