Aston Villa are said to be in the lead to secure the signature of Chelsea legend John Terry, ahead of Birmingham City.
Terry is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer and seems he’s set to play in the Championship, with several clubs have expressed interest in signing him.
The centre-back has been seen pictured playing golf with Villa boss Steve Bruce this summer and the latest reports suggest he will win the race to sign the former England star, as it’s claimed Villa are willing to offer him the most lucrative personal package.
Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp confirmed at the start of June he’d spoken to Terry and made the 36-year-old an offer to try and lure him to St Andrew’s but, as things stand, Blues look like being disappointed.
