The Blues have made The striker their latest target to sign in the aftermath of their failed attempted to get Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium striker’s move over to the Red Devils has derailed Contes plans less than five weeks out from the start of the 2017/18 Premier League season.
Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Fernando Llorente of Swansea City have also been considered as possible targets following Lukaku’s surprise decision to turn down a return to Stamford Bridge in favour of moving to United.
Antonio Conte is understood to be pretty upset as he looks to fill the gap of the expected departure of Diego Costa.
