Striker admits he still looks out for Atletico Madrid

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has alerted officials at Stamford Bridge by hinting that he could be ready to make a dramatic return to Atletico Madrid.

The controversial player has had his ups-and-downs in England since moving from Atletico in the summer of 2014, but in recent weeks, he’s endured more downs than ups.

Costa has been dropped recently by Jose Mourinho and has had public bust-ups with the manager, as well as receiving bans from the FA for his actions against Arsenal.

With Chelsea being strongly with making summer moves for a star-striker, it means Costa may have to make way and may leave Stamford Bridge, with a return to Atletico potentially on the cards.

Costa Hints at Move

When discussing his old-team, Costa admitted he’s still a fan and also stated that he still checks how they’re getting on.

The 27-year-old said: “You never know – look where Filipe Luis is now. Life is full of surprises.

“I always wish Atletico the best and I always follow them, support them from afar.”

Filipe Luis was a player that joined Chelsea from Atletico, but one-year later made a move back to the La Liga club.

If Costa does leave, it’s reported that Chelsea will go in for players like Antoine Griezmann and Gonzalo Higuain.
