Chelsea have beaten both Manchester City and Manchester United in signing Daishawn Redan from Ajax
Dutch publication Voetbalzone reports that the Blues side have sidestepped their two Manchester title rivals and signed the highly-sought 16-year-old.
Manchester United were interested in the Dutchman after being told he would be leaving the club in March. Other interested parties included Man City and Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, but it looks like the West London Club have convinced the youngster to sign.
It is said that Redan will commence his career with the Blues on July 1st, Chelsea are notorious for loaning out young players, and then bringing in young players at the same time, which has frustrated fans, however, Redan has been pegged as a big future prospect that will rise through the Blues youth academy.
The departure has left behind some bad blood with his previous side, and Ajax’s Head of Youth Said Ouaali making clear his disappointment.
Ouaall said: “We have mapped out a path for him and there have been discussions with him and his management.
“It is extremely regrettable, obviously they have something else on their minds.
