Two Premier League clubs are the current front-runners
It is believed that Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are battling it out for the signature of Rennes striker Ousmane Dembele.
The 18-year old is a hot prospect after scoring 12 goals in 25 appearances for the Ligue 1 club; such form has earned him a call-up for the France under 21 side.
It is rumoured that Manchester United and Arsenal were the first clubs to be interested in Dembele, but it has emerged that both Liverpool and Manchester City are in negotiations with Rennes after Borussia Dortmund had a bid rejected.
Dortmund tabled a bid of £11.9 million for the centre-forward, however, it was snubbed by Rennes because both the Reds and City offered more for the highly rated Frenchman.
