Chelsea may make move for forward this window

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has admitted he may have to make a move for a striker this transfer window.

The Blues are currently relying on trio Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao, but with Remy wanting out of Stamford Bridge and Falcao injured for up to two months, Chelsea are very thin on options up front.

With Costa‘s injury record and also his disciplinary record, Hiddink knows that he may need to add another striker to the squad just in case.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of tonight’s game against West Bromwich Albion, Hiddink admitted that Remy may get more game-time at Stamford Bridge due to the packed schedule, but he also admitted a new signing may have to be made.

Hiddink Hints at Striker

He said: “We have a multitude of games so I hope Remy picks it up. I hope he will deliver if he is needed.

“We are short of options. I hope they will both stay fit. I would be concerned if either picked up another injury.

“We are thinking about the situation. We have to have good competition, double occupation in every position.

“We must not go into the dangerous situation when something happens with one of the two strikers.”

West Brom‘s Saido Berahino has been linked with a move to Chelsea, as have Carlos Bacca and Alex Teixeira of AC Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk respectively.
