Arsenal supporters were over the moon when promising youngster Hector Bellerin signed a contract extension in November and he is proving his worth, by smashing his predecessor’s record.

Bellerin has left an enormous impression in north London ever since making his first-team debut back in 2013, which has left many Gunners fans saying that the 21-year-old will make a fine future captain.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna made a controversial switch to Manchester City just a year after Bellerin burst onto the scene and the Spain international has blossomed ever since.

The highly-rated full-back is only in his third season at the Emirates Stadium but he already has more assists (12) than what Sagna (11) had in his last five years at the club.

Bellerin, a former Watford loanee, has two assists for Arsene Wenger’s side in this Premier League campaign, as they sit three points behind leaders and rivals Chelsea in the ladder.

Furthermore, France international Sagna is yet to provide a single assist for Pep Guardiola’s men this term, who are struggling at the moment in fourth place.

Bellerin, who came off the bench for Arsenal at home to Stoke City at the weekend, is expected to start at right-back against Everton on Tuesday night.
