Spurs goalkeeper talks up potential Old Trafford move

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has admitted that he’s watching what happens at Manchester United in terms of their goalkeeping situation.

David De Gea has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid over the Summer, which would leave Louis Van Gaal needing a new number-one, with Lloris reportedly one on his wishlist.

United are still hopeful that they can keep De Gea at the club, but it’s looking more and more likely that he could be returning to Spain after fresh reports suggested he’d already said his goodbyes to United players.

However, nothing official has been announced yet, and Lloris has admitted that he’s only focused on Spurs as it stands, but that could change if some activity does happen at Old Trafford.

Lloris Monitoring Situation

The France international said: “For the moment there is a goalkeeper at United and we are watchful of his situation.

“You have to keep a certain calm with all this. If things should happen then they’ll happen naturally.”

Lloris is also being watched by French giants Paris Saint-Germain, and the number-one’s desire to play in the Champions League again could see him leave White Hart Lane.

Goalkeeper wants Champions League Football

He said: “I think every player wants to play this competition because it’s a high level and we work for that, we work every day for that and I hope to get there and there’s a chance in my career to play Champions League.”

Spurs have failed to break the Premier League‘s top-four yet again, finishing fifth this time around, and it’s believed that Lloris is getting fed up with playing in the Europa League.

Under Contract

However, the goalkeeper is under contract at the club until 2019.
