The Reds will launch ÂŁ15million move

Liverpool are set to make a new and improved bid for Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne.

The Reds made their first move last week, but saw their ÂŁ10million bid rejected by The Saints for their star right-back, urging Liverpool to cough up more money.

After initially being turned down, Liverpool are now prepared to make a fresh second bid for the England international, this time believed to be around ÂŁ15m, which could be deemed acceptable by Ronald Koeman and co.

Clyne’s Contract Situation

Clyne has just one year left on his contract at St Marys, meaning the club could lose him for nothing this time next year if they don’t decide to cash in on him this Summer.

If Southampton do turn down all offers, they would risk losing the right-back for nothing if he chooses not to sign an extension from now until next year.

Rivals Drop Interest

Recent reports emerged that Brendan Rodgers is the only party interested in signing Clyne now after Louis Van Gaal withdrew his interest in the 24-year-old last week.

Manchester United will turn their attentions elsewhere after dropping their interest in Clyne, leaving Liverpool in pole position to sign him.

Stars Want out of Southampton

Clyne has had a stunning season for Saints, but after narrowly missing out on a top-four finish after fading away near the end of the campaign, the right-back could be set to leave the club along with Morgan Schneiderlin.

The duo have voiced their desire to play in the Champions League and at a higher level, and despite Liverpool not being in the competition, Clyne could still be set for a Merseyside move.
