Real Madrid look set to pip Manchester United to the signing of Porto’s Danilo, with a move already apparently agreed in principle.

United, Liverpool Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with the attacking right-back this season, but it appears that the Bernabeu outfit have already won the race for his signature.

With Dani Alves’s contract running out at Barcelona and Manchester United having to use winger Antonio Valencia as an emergency defender this season, both have looked closely at Danilo as a potential replacement.

But Barca director of football Carles Rexach claims Madrid have already sealed a deal to bring the Porto man to the Spanish capital.

”I’ve been told he’s already signed for Madrid. But I don’t know for sure. That’s something for him to say.” He told Esport 3.

With a value of between ÂŁ20m-ÂŁ25m Danilo would be an expensive acquisition, however at just 23 years of age he still has his best years ahead of him so would represent decent value for money in the long-term.
