Officials in London to finalise deal for Chelsea star

Is Diego Costa’s time with the Blues finally be up?

The Spain striker didn’t get the chance to move on during the transfer window, however, he still remains intent on a return to Atletico Madrid.

Atletico are not permitted to register new players until the new year but are reportedly closing in on a deal.

The Express are reporting officials from the Spanish giants have flown into London to finalise Costa’s return.

But will it finally go through this time?

Other reports claim Costa’s move to Fenerbahce looks to have collapsed while claims of a last-minute move to Besiktas appear unlikely.

However, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has said he is hopeful his club will sign Chelsea forward Diego Costa in January, so I’m not sure where the mainstream media is getting their reports that officials have flown into West London right now.

Maybe for talks perhaps.

Currently under a FIFA-imposed registration ban, Atleti failed to re-sign Costa, 28, in the summer, but Cerezo said the Madrid club will return for the Spain international in the new year, per Joe Short in the Express: “

We cannot sign anyone until January, hopefully by then Costa and many others will come.”
