Chelsea must really step their game up real quick or risk falling further behind, warns former Blue Pat Nevin

The Italian manager finds himself short on numbers at the start of the new Premier League season and suffered a disastrous opener to the season where they were beaten 3-2 by Burnley at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Chelsea must now pick themselves up as they prepare for their important clash against Spurs at Wembley in their next big game this weekend.

And Nevin has warned Antonio Conte’s men that they must get their act together quickly if they are to keep themselves in the title race.

Speaking on Irish radio station Newstalk, Nevin said: “Chelsea have one hard programme coming up. They’ve got one hell of schedule.

“They better sort themselves out quickly, or the other teams will be too far ahead.”

After their trip to Tottenham, Chelsea will take on Everton at home, Leicester City away, Arsenal at home, Stoke City away and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
