Chelsea and Manchester United will go head-to-head for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta this summer.

The 32-year-old has been tipped by his agent to join either of the two Prem sides, after a fall out with boss Laurent Blanc at Parc des Princes.

Despite being linked with a move to Serie A sides Lazio and AS Roma, the Brazilian-born Italy international looks set to move to England.

During an exclusive interview with Tuttomercatoweb, Motta’s agent Alessandro Canovi said: “[Moving to Italy?] It’s a possibility. Everything is quiet at the moment. He is happy, we will have to see.

“If Thiago went on the market, there would definitely be teams interested. But right now, neither us or PSG intend to open this situation. Right now he is happy at his club.”

Blaise Matuidi, Yohan Cabaye and Marco Verratti have become the regular trio at the centre of PSG’s midfield, leaving Motta with less game time than he would like.

Manchester United would seem the most likely destination where Motta could guarantee games, due to the current strength throughout Chelsea’s squad.
