Egyptian DOES still want Serie A move however

Fiorentina have failed to keep Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, confirms the player’s agent.

Chelsea are keen to sell the Egypt international and had agreed a £12.8million transfer fee with the Italian giants over a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old impressed while on loan at the Florence club in the second-half of last season and had been offered £2million in wages per-season to stay at the club permanently.

However, his agent Ramy Abbas revealed earlier today that the attacking player has rejected the offer and wants a move to a rival in the Serie A.

Agent Dismisses Fiorentina

Abbas confirmed Salah’s rejection of the Fiorentina offer, he said: “We have decided not to stay in Fiorentina.

“Salah will shortly move on to another Italian club.” he added.

Inter Milan have shown heavy interest in the Egyptian and are known to have a lot of money to spend in this summer transfer window.

Fiorentina claim that they will now take legal action against the player and his representative, as they believe they had a clause in the initial loan deal with Chelsea that would extend Salah’s loan into the 2015/16 campaign if a permanent deal could not be agreed.

Gazzetta dello Sport say the clause is being twisted and it looks like the Serie A side will not manage to keep hold of the star.

Club Statement

After the deal breaking down between the player and the Italian side, Fiorentina released the following statement:

“Following recent developments concerning Mohamed Salah, ACF Fiorentina would like to clarify the following points out of respect for Viola fans.

“Through his representative, the player has rejected our improved contract offer and expressed his desire to join another club.

“He has also informed us that he does not intend to respond to our request for him to report back for pre-season training.

“As a result of the above, we have placed the matter in the hands of our lawyers so that they may assess all possible courses of action in order to protect the club’s rights.”
